Orlando Magic (17-23) vs. Sacramento Kings (20-20)
The Sacramento Kings snap a four-game skid and three-game home losing streak as they defeat the
Orlando Magic 111-95 for their largest margin of victory at home this season.
Through the first 12 minutes, Sacramento found themselves in a back-and-forth contest with six lead
changes and four ties in the first quarter alone. The Kings would lead 29-25 to start the second quarter as
they went on a 7-0 run, holding Orlando scoreless for the second quarter up until the 7:32 mark.
Sacramento would not allow the Magic to tie or take the lead after the first quarter and would go up by as many as 29 points with 1:09 to play in the third quarter with the score at 88-59.
The 29-point advantage now marks the largest lead in a game at home for the Kings this season (previous was 19 vs. Oklahoma City on 11/19).
Buddy Hield ended his night with 13 points as he went 5-for-10 from the field and 3-for-6 from three-point range. Hield now has 131 three-pointers through the first 40 games of the season. He is just one of 10 players in NBA history with 130-plus three-point field goals, tied with the Kyle Lowry (2016-17) for the eighth most through 40 games. He is the only Kings player with 120 three-pointers through 40 games as Peja Stojakovic previously had the most with 117 makes from beyond the arc during the 2003-04 season.
Rookie Marvin Bagley III makes his return against the Magic to score 8 points on 2 of 7 shooting and 6 rebounds.
Sacramento held Orlando to 32-of-87 from the field for just .368 percent, which is now the lowest field goals made and shooting percentage by a Kings opponent this season. Sacramento is now 3-0 in games when holding their opponent to under .400 percent from the field, including their matchup earlier this season against the Magic when Orlando shot .396 percent from the field. The Kings hold an opponent to under 100 points for first time since Dec. 21 vs. Memphis as they move to 6-0 this year when limiting opponents to 100 points or fewer.
Nikola Vucevic also recorded a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds while Terrence Ross finished with a game-high 20 points off the bench as he shot 7-for-12 and knocked down five treys on 10 attempts.
Sacramento collected 57 rebounds for the outing, including a season-high 48 defensive boards while Orlando grabbed 46 boards total. The Kings are 11-2 in games when outrebounding their opponent.
De’Aaron Fox scored a game-high 20 points as he went 9-of-14 from the field to go with a career-high tying five steals, which also ties the most by a Kings player this season (Fox had five steals on 12/21 vs.Memphis).
Willie Cauley-Stein finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds for his second consecutive double-double as well as his 15 th double-double of the season.
Bogdan Bogdanovic recorded 15 points, seven assists and eight boards, all on the defensive glass, as he tied his career-highs for defensive and total rebounds.
